You can choose to water from the top as normal, letting excess drain into the reservoir below, or fill the reservoir directly to let roots draw up moisture as needed.

The all-around mesh drainage holes at the base help prevent waterlogging and reduce the risk of root rot, making these pots well suited to a wide range of indoor plants including peace lilies, snake plants, pothos, and fiddle leaf figs.
